Career Technology Education

Forrest County CTE teachers and staff strive to create a safe and engaging learning environment where students receive a unique educational experience while participating in hands on learning opportunities that will prepare them for college and/or careers.
We at North Forrest High School CTE strive to provide a meaningful experience for our students. Each teacher is an educator and a professional that works to prepare our students for the future, whether that future entail further education or a career path. Our overall goal is to provide the most complete education and experience to our students to encourage future success.

Culinary Arts I emphasizes various food preparation techniques and the knowledge needed to properly do these skills safely and efficiently. This course concludes with basic communication and customer service skills, management essentials, and a career readiness section to prepare students for their next step in life.

Culinary Arts II begins with the ServSafe Manager certification material, followed by basic nutrition and beginner-level skills related to preparing dishes with eggs, dairy products, breakfast foods, sandwiches, salads, and garnishes.

Digital Media Technology is a 2 year program.

Digital Media Technology I encompasses safety, ethical issues and production, photography, graphic design, and print production will be offered to students. The audio production portion of the course emphasizes real-world, hands-on practice. (2 credits)

Digital Media Technology II focuses on the process of video production and editing as well as career opportunities in audio and video technology. Another component of the course is motion graphics. (2 credits)

The Health Science Core I covers topics including safety, infection control, legal and ethical practices, and medical terminology.

The Health Science Core II course continues with the basic anatomy and physiology of various body systems. Students will learn the signs, symptoms, treatments, and prevention methods of diseases/disorders associated with each system.
