The Health Science Core I covers topics including safety, infection control, legal and ethical practices, and medical terminology.

The Health Science Core II course continues with the basic anatomy and physiology of various body systems. Students will learn the signs, symptoms, treatments, and prevention methods of diseases/disorders associated with each system.

• Students must have completed Biology with at least a C

• Students should have a C or above in English and Math

• Students need to be in grades 10 - 12

• Good attendance record

• Good discipline record

HOSA is a National student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE.  HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. 

HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for middle school, secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions.
